With over seventeen years of clinical psychology experience, I utilize evidence based (research-results oriented), treatment for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I also empower men and women, as a Life Coach in their personal, community, and business relationships.
My core philosophy is to personalize treatment/techniques to reduce symptoms, increase self-sufficiency, and enhance quality of life. Emphasis is on compassion with collaboration in goal setting, and constant monitoring of progress. Crucial aspects of my practice are to inspire clients through encouragement to learn and practice new skills. At the end of therapy, individuals take with them life changing techniques, to incorporate into their daily lives.
With my specialty of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), I treat Anxiety, Depression (mood), and Eating Disorders.
Goals of Cognitive Behavior Therapy
My ultimate goal is to have client's lives restored to peace, optimism, and resiliency; and to provide the skills to navigate through life with confidence.
Learning how to manage thoughts, language, intense emotions, and using food to regulate these emotions are a few of the symptoms that are the focus of CBT.
With CBT, homework is personalized to the goals of the client and performed between sessions.
Collaboration on homework reinforces the desired changes, and the forming of positive habits that build on the techniques/tools that maintain the positive changes.
These changes are then incorporated into family, work, and other relationships that reinforce a positive way of interacting and communicating.
